A Safer Congregation

Policies

In recognition of the spiritual and public trust given this faith community, Eden United Church of Christ is committed to being a true sanctuary, both nurturing and protecting all participants in its activities, including members and visitors. Worship of God requires openness, trust, intimacy, vulnerability, and a safe, supportive community. Recognizing the many intentional and unintentional ways that we may harm ourselves and others, we commit ourselves to maintaining policies and procedures to create a safe environment for all who participate in our programs. Accordingly, Church Council, on behalf of the congregation, establishes policies, screens and trains staff and volunteers, and educates the congregation in the following areas:

• Sexual misconduct and physical abuse, including legal reporting requirements

• Other forms of harassment (based on race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or physical ability)

• Accessibility for all people

• Emergency response and disaster planning

Check-ins

You’ll notice, whether at worship or at other Eden Church programming, a kiosk or mobile (tablet) check-in station. During check-ins, little ones will receive labels indicating the location of their program on campus, and parents/guardians will receive a security label for pick-up. This is to ensure that our kiddos and their wonderful parents, approved volunteers, and Eden Church team know which location on campus and program children are supposed to be at and who are approved persons to pick-up.

To check-in for worship or any Eden Church event, simply look for the Check-ins signage.

You can now also have a mobile pass generated with a QR code for quick check-ins on your phone. It can be stored in your Apple or Android Wallet and scanned in at the tablet check-in station.

Please direct your Check-ins inquiries to Pastor Marvin.
