We provide culturally responsive accompaniment that helps immigrants and newcomers navigate complex systems, access resources, and build the capacity to move from survival toward stability and belonging.
School-Based / School-Linked Support for Newcomer Students and Families
The Newcomer Navigation Center provides school-based and school-linked support for newcomer students and their families. Through trusted relationships, case management, family engagement, resource navigation, and educational advocacy, we help students and caregivers overcome barriers to community integration.
Goals

Systems Change, Immigrant Justice, and Newcomer Inclusion
The Newcomer Navigation Center partners with schools, public agencies, and community organizations to build systems that are more responsive, welcoming, and equitable for immigrant and newcomer communities. Through technical assistance, coalition leadership, advocacy, and capacity-building, we help institutions develop sustainable newcomer-centered practices while advancing immigrant justice across Alameda County.
Goals
Support schools and districts in developing and strengthening newcomer-centered programs, policies, and practices
Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to educators, service providers, and community partners serving immigrant families
Advocate for equitable access to education, health, legal, and social services for newcomer communities
Convene cross-sector partners to identify emerging community needs and coordinate responsive solutions
Participate in countywide immigrant justice efforts, including leadership within the Alameda County Immigrant Legal Education Partnership (ACILEP), to strengthen protections, information-sharing, and community support for immigrant residents
Elevate the voices and lived experiences of immigrant families to inform policy, practice, and systems change

Strong Minds
Strong Minds/Mentes Fuertes is a psychosocial intervention that was developed by professionals at the Massachusetts General Hospital to support community mental health and help individuals learn strategies for living healthier, more positive lives. We were their first Spanish-language pilot program partnership in the country.
How We Work
Mentes Fuertes program provides mental health and wellness services through group sessions, workshops, individual sessions, and community outreach activities. Participants engage in culturally responsive workshops, group sessions, and individual services designed to reinforce emotional well-being, increase resilience, and build meaningful community connections.
