Education & Spiritual Growth

Because faith is a journey that begins at birth and culminates with death, Eden Church offers educational and spiritual growth opportunities for all ages. For a schedule of upcoming programs and events, click here.  An overview of our offerings follows:

Infant and toddler care is offered during worship and on an as-requested basis for other Eden events. Contact the church office to request childcare.

Church School for Children and Youth meets on Sunday mornings, except for Communion Sunday, the first Sunday of the month. On Communion Sunday, we offer a special children’s sermon during worship, allowing the children to rejoin their families for the sacrament while our teens assist worship leaders throughout the service.

For all classes, K–12, we use the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, which introduces children to core biblical stories and nurtures spiritual growth through music, the visual arts, theatre, movement, and play.

Several times a year we offer “Eden Family” Outings for the whole church family. These social events have included weekend trips to the corn maze and Ardenwood Farms.

Confirmation is a nine-month hands-on faith formation program for teens. Teens meet semi-monthly with the pastor and youth advisors to learn about and participate in all aspects of church life before deciding whether to become members of Eden church. In the spring, teens will attend a popular retreat with other UCC confirmation classes.

Adult Education mid-week classes, occasional Sunday workshops, and seasonal offerings provide participants with an introduction to cutting-edge theology, opportunities for faith reflection on current events, and encouragement to explore and express beliefs and values in an open and caring environment.

Small Groups are an opportunity to reflect and discuss among friends about what matters to you when it comes to your faith and spiritual practices. Small groups completed their Lenten cycle and will restart in the fall 2010; look for more information then.

Retreats, Labyrinth Walks, and Spiritual Direction are offered by our ministers and community partners.

Safe Congregation Commitment:  In order to grow and learn, we need to feel welcome and safe. Click here for information about our Safe Congregation policies, procedures, and covenants, or contact the Senior Minister.
